Go Here Now

Free Rice dot Com

Play a vocabulary game. For every word you get right, the site's proprietors will donate 10 grains of rice to the United Nations World Food Program. When the site launched on October 7th, players earned 830 grains for the day. The total for yesterday was almost 60 million grains. It's a good cause, they seem legit, and who among us doesn't love improving their vocabulary?

Curses! I couldn't earn a vocab score higher than 44. Every time I went on a run they through a word at me that I didn't know.

Fortunately, they repeat words fairly frequently, so if you play again, you'll probably do better. The first day, my high score was 44 or 45. The second day I was up to 47. Give the gift of food, receive the gift of an expanded vocabulary...it's a win-win!

Hey, I've done this before! It's really cool. I also just noticed that you are reading Fight Club. I don't know if you have read any other Palahniuk, but I really liked both Survivor and Lullaby.
