9 month checkup

Soren had his 9 month checkup today. He got a clean bill of health; he's still got a little lingering cough from his cold last week, but the doctor said his lungs sound great. All the residual congestion is up in his head, apparently, so that's good. :)

Mister long & lanky, at 30" tall and weighing just over 20.5 lbs, is at the 90th percentile for height and the 50th for weight. The doctor was very pleased by those stats, so we must be doing the right thing with his various foods.

At this 9 month visit, Soren wasn't due for any immunizations, but since he and I had our flu shots 4 weeks ago, he was due for his booster. So the poor little weasel didn't catch a break there. BUT! He was a total trooper and didn't cry at all. The nurse seemed to be expecting some kind of explosion from him, since she had me hold him on my lap, locking his legs between mine, bracing his arms close to his body; he was holding the book they gave him at the start of the visit though, chewing on it some, so rather than take it away and brace his arms better, I let him keep it for the distraction...which totally worked. He jumped a little but didn't make a peep. Such a good little boy.

Anyway. Check the other blog in a day or two for updated growth charts, if you're interested in that sort of thing. ;)

Hurray for healthy, well-loved babies! He's a lucky boy (and ya'll are lucky parents :D)
