Closing Time

We closed on our house this morning! Woo-hoo! Soren was at school, but Eleri came with us and was just about as well behaved as could be. She sat there pretty quietly, ate a snack, eventually got fidgety enough to warrant pacification-by-iPod, but then she kept the volume all the way down and mostly just listened to music. We signed paperwork to the accompaniment of the Beatles, Pomplamoose, and (appropriately enough) Signing Time.

All told, it took a little under an hour, which surprised me, but I wasn't going to complain. Soren got to go home with a classmate and have lunch at her house. When we arrived to pick him up, he and S (whom he's actually known since about the age of 2) were playing dress-up. He told us on the ride home that they were about to get married, had we not so rudely interrupted them. Hehe.

Later in the afternoon/evening, the lad and I went to get some paint for our new digs. We brought painting supplies over to the house, letting ourselves in without the assistance of a realtor for the first time. Exciting! Our new neighborhood seems nice and quiet, and a few of the neighbors have Christmas decorations out on the lawns. I'm excited to get moved over there in the next few weeks!
